NUMBERS GAME

A man always wants to know how many guys his girl has slept with before she was with him. JEWEL poses the question: What’s an appropriate number of lovers for a woman to have had before she’s considered promiscuous?

“This may sound clichéd, but the answer is relative. Example: Two women sleep with 10 men. One woman sleeps with one guy per year for 10 years; the other sleeps with one man her first year, takes a three-year hiatus, then hits a hot streak in her 25th year. In other words, it’s the time span of said “relations” that defines the level of promiscuity. I don’t believe there is a cap, but a large number in a short period of time makes you promiscuous.”

“A woman’s frequency of partners should decrease as she gets older, and if she has a level of self-value, she shouldn’t be putting ‘it’ out there unless she’s in a meaningful relationship. But every woman goes through what I call a ‘freak’ stage. So the question should not be just about the number of partners she’s had, but rather about exactly when and why she’s first gone through this ‘freak’ stage, and if she relapses into this stage with regularity.”

“The first love counts for four partners because that’s how many rounds it takes for her to get him out of her system. Two more are for rebound purposes, and then lucky seven is the perfect guy.”
